KLP116: It Was Hot, We Stayed In The Water by the Microphones (CD)
The second album by the Microphones. This one is about mortality and love at the ocean, hugging under a quilt in the sand, disintegrating, weird roars and groans.
KLP125: Song Islands by the Microphones (CD)
This singles compilation was released by K in 2002 or so. It never came out on vinyl, just CD. The idea was that the original 7” releases were the vinyl version. The CD was just a collection of rarities. 21 tracks. Maximum length. Includes hits.
KCD190: the Glow pt. 2 by the Microphones : double CD
This is the “deluxe” re-issue of the popular 2001 album by the Microphones featuring a whole extra disc of unreleased songs from the era and “destroyed versions” of songs from the album, plus an extra booklet of pictures and words, plus a whole bunch of photos, plus two CDs of music. It’s a substantial package. (Released by K.)
KLP140: Mount Eerie by the Microphones (CD)
The last actual album by “the Microphones”, the first intrusion of the idea of “Mount Eerie”, this was originally released in 2003. Epic narrative made up of 5 song-things that morph into each other. The CD comes with a large folded up vellum poster chart with notes on the songs. More information here.
KLP158: Live in Japan by the Microphones : CD
The last album by the Microphones, not really an album. Some acoustic songs, some with a pick up band. This is a weird one. (Released by K.)
ELV009 (C.D.): “GRIS” by Woelv : CD
Geneviève made these 4 long songs in preparation for a tour of Japan. They turned out to be too good for just a tour thing so we released it. They are an attempt at “prog rock” she says. Drones and mind bends. Comes with a booklet of drawings and some string. Sung in French.
KLP172 (C.D.): “Tout Seul Dans La Forêt En Plein Jour, Avez-Vous Peur?” by Woelv : CD
This is the CD version of the epic book/record that K released in Dec. 2007. It comes with an awesome booklet of some of the artwork.
MAR047 (CD): “the Watery Graves of Portland and Geneviève” : CD (released by Marriage)
D+ is Bret Lunsford (Beat Happening), Karl Blau (Karl Blau) and Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie, the Microphones). They have been making records in this formation since 1997.
